Capitol Games

Her head was a spinning top once they called her name. How could this happen? Not me! I'm not even from the Capitol. Surely my name couldn't be there. Or could it? I had been living here for the last 3 years, but that was for work. They can't do this. I'm a district girl. Don't they know I'm from 7? They have to! Th-the records prove it! I avoided it my entire life. The job here in the capitol was to give me amnesty in the games. I just had 3 weeks left! 3 weeks until I was 18.But there she was. Frozen, Beth Rosesmith contemplated her options, only to decide to walk solemnly towards her death.
The other incompetent children of the now fallen Capitol did not see the reality that, like their glorious city, their lives could come tumbling down at any moment. A certain girl was crying though, why was this pathetic, stuck up girl crying? What had she  ever missed out on? Her skin was not yet genetically enhanced as were the other children, the only sign that she was from the capitol, her reckless parents  who were drunk and singing tunes about doodles and macaroni. Her sapphire blue eyes met Beth's and stabbed through her like a thousand daggers. She was another tribute. Because there were no districts, random children were chosen for the games. And she was one of them. How could she understand though? All the others seemed to be upset that they weren't picked. She couldn't be more than 13, and what made it worse was that for Beth to survive, she would have to kill her.
The other tributes were picked, but she would have no problem killing them. Annoying and arrogant, probably wasteful. Beth was fit, standing at 6'3 at 112 pounds, she was light and agile. She wasn't exactly beautiful, but she was pretty. Her strange violet eyes were brought by her pale skin and black, silky hair. She would be able to last a few days off of only her knowledge of trees and knowledge, unlike the rest of her district, she couldn't wield and axe, but she could strike pretty well with a whip. With a certain technique she could probably kill...
